
I'm sorry if you have been checking back for some tales from the Coast. We weren't allowed to go to the Coast because of security concerns, so instead we went to a place called La Dorada, about half way between MedellĂn and Bogotá on the shores of the mighty River Magdalena. We had fun painting houses:

facilitating a health brigade, and helping in a new church there. But maybe the highlight was a close encounter with the FAC, that's the Colombian Airforce, (not the FARC, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia!). One of the church members is a member of the airforce, based near La Dorada, and it was interesting to see a different (heavily-guarded) facet of Colombian life.
And as usual, there were lots of pretty flowers to see:
