Visit to Bucaramanga

Last week I took advantage of another Monday holiday to visit friends in Bucaramanga - the self-proclaimed city of joy, about 400km away from Medellin.
As usual, there were lots of things to like:
orchids
the ceiling of a Catholic Churchnice soup, called mutéa trip in a cable car across the Chicomocha valley
and pretty umbrellas.
But the conflict remained unavoidable.
Graffiti (the first I've seen) supporting the 'National Liberation Army', a small left-wing rebel group, with the words: poverty is ignorance.
I am going to be away from cyberspace for about a month, but I have been so poor at updating this blog that you probably won't notice much difference. Check back for Tales from the Coast at the end of July.
