Trip to Cali

I have just spent the weekend with friends in Cali. It was fun to spend time in another Colombian city with a different feel from Medellin. Here is a random collection of things that caught my eye:
I don't know what Hernando Botero Obyrne did, but it was significant enough for him to get this swimming pool named after him. I wonder who the Obyrne (O'Byrne, surely?) in his family tree was.
Here is evidence that President Uribe is not universally popular - according to this graffitti 40 thousand (thanks, Manuel) indigenous people are against his reelection.

This sign says: Clothes Clinic - Curtains Made. I feel there is a joke in there somewhere.

Finally, cholado: fresh exotic fruit, grated ice, condensed milk, fruit sauce....mmmm!

Fiona... me encantan tus crónicas, pero permíteme hacerte una pequeña corrección: 40 mil indígenas no son 40 million indigenous people... Es verdad que hay mucha gente que no quiere a Uribe, ¡pero no son 40 millones!
